Rupe Great Oil Slow Food
On May 21st, at the Auditorio Gervasio (Piazza Sedile), in Matera, Slow Food Publishing has launched its 2016 Guide to Extra Virgin Olive Oils. The extra virgin olive oil Rupe, monocultivar Cammarotana, by Pietrabianca, has been prized as “Grande Olio (Great Oil)”, gaining Three “Green Leaves” the highest value on the guide. Furthermore, the Lapis extra virgin olive oil, Cilento DOP monocultivar Pisciottana, gained Two “Green Leaves”.
“Testimoni” (Witnesses), a movie by Luca Aceto e Francesco Linzalone on olive growers, millers and trimmers, has been projected during the pubblic event.
During the afternoon, guided tours to the mills have been organized thanks to “Slow Food Rete Giovani Matera” (Young Association of Slow Food in Matera), followed by the opening of tasting tables of awarded extra virgin olive oils from all over Italy.
